Browsing the site

• We use Google Analytics only if you choose "Allow analytics" in the notice at the bottom of the page. Until then nothing from Google is loaded and no analytics cookies are set.
• If you allow it, Google Analytics sets cookies and records the pages you visit, roughly where you are, and your browser and device, so we can see which pages are useful. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. We have switched off Google signals and ad personalisation.
• You can change your choice at any time with "Analytics choice" at the bottom of every page. Your choice is stored in your browser.
• We do not use advertising trackers or tracking pixels.
• Tool logos are stored on our own server, so viewing them does not contact the tool’s company.
• Our application logs record which page was requested and when, to keep the site running. They do not record your IP address.
• Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and to keep the service running.

When you submit a tool

We collect what you type into the form: details about the tool, your relationship to it, your email address and, if you give it, your name. We use them only to process that submission.

• Your email address is used to send one confirmation link. It is never shown on the site. Sending the email may pass your address to our email delivery provider.
• To limit abuse, we store a one-way code made from your IP address and a key that changes daily. It cannot be turned back into your IP address.
• Our policy is to anonymise submitter details twelve months after an editorial decision on the submission.

Your choices

You can ask us to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you by emailing toolindexhub@gmail.com. We reply within 30 days.
