How collections work

Collections are short lists of AI tools that belong together for a reason. Some are updated automatically from the index: "New tools" lists the most recently added listings, and "Recently updated" lists the tools whose facts changed most recently. They are a quick way to see what is new without browsing every category.

Other collections are chosen by an editor around a theme, such as a type of user or a task. An editor-curated collection always says so, and explains why each tool is included. Nobody can pay to be added to a collection or to appear higher in one, in the same way that listings themselves cannot be bought.

Collections never rank tools by quality. The order in an automatic collection comes from dates; the order in a curated one is explained on its page. To compare tools directly, open two to four of them in Compare, or answer a few questions in Help me choose.
