How we list tools

What goes into a listing, where the facts come from, and what we do not do.

What gets listed

  • An AI tool with a working public product and an official website.
  • Tools are added by our editors or suggested by anyone through Submit a tool. Suggestions are checked by an editor before anything is published.
  • Listing is free. It cannot be bought, and neither can a better position or kinder wording.

What a listing contains

  • A short and a longer description of what the tool does.
  • The company or developer behind it, and a link to its official website.
  • Its categories and tags.
  • Key facts: pricing model, free plan, free trial, platforms, API, enterprise support, and where known, languages and integrations.

Facts come from the tool’s official website and documentation.

“Not verified yet” is not “No”

When we have not recorded a fact, the page says Not verified yet. We never show a missing fact as “No”, because that would claim we checked something we did not.

Dates on facts

When an editor checks a tool’s facts against its official website, the tool page shows the date. Facts older than six months are marked as possibly out of date. Facts that have never been re-checked say so.

On 24 September 2026 we removed “verified” dates that had been added automatically when the launch tools were published, because no editor had checked those tools one by one. The correction is recorded in each tool’s history.

No scores, yet

We do not score or rank tools today. Before any score appears, the method behind it will be published on this site, every score will be backed by a person who used the tool, and no score will be generated by AI.

How lists are ordered

  • Search results are ordered by how well each tool matches your search words. That match is worked out for each search and is not stored or shown as a rating.
  • Without a search, tool lists show the most recently updated tools first.
  • Collections are either automatic (newest, recently updated) or ordered by an editor, with a note on each choice.
  • “Related tools” are tools that share a category or tags.
  • No ordering anywhere on the site is paid for.

Mistakes

If a listing is wrong or out of date, email toolindexhub@gmail.com with the tool page and what should change. We correct it and keep a record of the correction.
